January 17th 2024 here in Grapevine Texas and we had a glimmer of hope...

The last several days have been a cold snap and we had temps as low as 8F. We did what we could to prep the rig but nothing but experience would prepare us for the issues it would cause and how underprepared we would be. Today was the warmest day of the last 4 and we finally got a little bit of water to come out of our faucet. However this did not last long as we suspect that maybe the water that came out was the melted water from our reserve and we used that all up testing the various places water would be needed in our RV, shower, kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks toilets...

We did manage to get a portion of our sewer line to thaw and drain by strategically wrapping it in heat tape we order from the "Jungle Site". It worked okay but would have been better as a preventative. The heated sewer hose cover comes tomorrow and we hope it will finish the job.

It will be freezing again the next few days so we expect to be without water for the duration. Our prayer now is that our rig makes it out of this mess without too much damage to the water lines... We shall see about that.
